Fountain of Youth Smoothie


This open-ended recipe is a sure-fire way to detoxify and rejuvenate your body in record-breaking time, and also boost your energy and restore youthful vitality…no matter your age. It’s also easy to make and with a few variations, will taste a little different each time you blend it up. 

Liquid of your choice — you can choose from coconut water, coconut milk, tea, water, juice or almond, hemp, rice, oat, cashew, or soy beverages, etc.

Fresh or frozen fruit of your choice — some of my favorites include a banana, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, kiwi, pineapple, mango, papaya, apple, and grapes

Fresh homegrown sprouts of your choice — I most often use the sprouts of alfalfa, red clover, broccoli, and sunflower. I also use the fresh microgreens that are ready to harvest

Fresh ginger root to taste — this is optional but gives it a zingy taste. You can use about 3-4 coins cut fresh off the root


• Dash cinnamon powder

Sweetener to taste — I don’t use any but you can choose between agave nectar, pitted dates, honey, etc.
 
Blend it all together and enjoy. You’ll see that I didn’t add any exact measurements. Start with the liquid and add in all the rest, depending on how many servings you want to make. If it’s just for me, I always make extra so I can enjoy it throughout the day.
 
Variations: You can also add in a tablespoon of flax seeds or chia seeds. To make a more savory smoothie (or what I refer to as a Salad Smoothie), use a base of tomato juice (or fresh tomatoes) or a combination of tomato and broth and then add in some green onion, carrot, red bell pepper, a few spinach leaves, a couple sprigs of parsley, and even some garlic, if you wish. And, of course, you’ll want to add in nutritious sprouts such as alfalfa, red clover, sunflower seed sprouts, radish, salad mix, or any other favorite ones.
 
The sky is the limit on what you can blend together and each time it will be your own delicious, nutritious creation. One thing’s for sure: Every time you drink these smoothies of your own making, you body will smile and be busy at work detoxifying and rejuvenating you from head to toe, inside out.
